Warm Kona Sunrise: Your Weekend Tiki Bar Cocktail Recipe

kona-sunriseThis coffee drink is sort of like an Irish Coffee that decided to vacation in Hawaii. The liquors blend nicely together with strong Kona coffee, and will have you warmed up in no time on a cold February night. Of course if you live in the sub-tropics like ol’ Tiki Chris does, you can serve it cold on a hot February night.

3 to 4 oz. Kona Coffee
1 oz. Vodka
0.5 oz. coffee liqueur
0.5 oz. Baileys Original Irish Cream
splash cream to taste
splash Sambuca
Whipped Cream
Nutmeg

Starting with the coffee, pour all ingredients into a coffee or Tiki mug and stir gently, then top off with a splash of Sambuca and cream. Add whipped cream (real, not Cool Whip!) and sprinkle a little nutmeg on top. This is a great drink to have with rum-based desserts.
