What a beautiful evening it’s been; a balmy 76°, a slight breeze, not the slightest threat of rain. We decided to have a BBQ and eat out the lanai, something we certainly don’t do often enough. I turned on the Tiki Bar lights, set the Martin Denny and Les Baxter music to play, and BBQ’d some burgers and fresh corn.
The sounds of the jungle music intertwined with the soft splash of the waterfall as our conversation floated freely from one subject to another, everything from our crazy neighbor to the Hukilau we’re attending this Saturday in Fort Lauderdale. I swear to you, the music and the lights and the waterfall and eating by the Tiki Bar make plain burgers taste like…dare I say it…Cheeseburgers in Paradise.
Once finished this post, I believe I’ll return to the lanai to have a nice tropical cocktail, and read from one of my favorite new books, The Parrot Talks in Chocolate.
